Summary
of Duties: Operates
equipment required in the maintenance and operation of facilities
designed for the production, treatment and distribution of potable
water plus the collection and treatment of wastewater. Ability
to operate a tractor mounted Backhoe at a high level of proficiency
with no instruction needed or required is mandatory. Must
regularly left and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100
lbs. Applicant must be able and willing to be on-call plus work
overtime, weekends, and holidays on a need bases. No rotating shift
work involved. Willing to cross-train for rental apartment maintenance
which the utility services.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Proof
of High School diploma
or general education degree (GED) required.
Experience: Must
have some Potable Water and Wastewater treatment experience and/or
training. Knowledge of SBR wastewater treatment system is
desirable. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak the
English Language and interpret documents, operating manuals plus write
routine reports and correspondence.
Skills: Must
be able to perform all job skills of Operator Class I, in all five LA-DHH
licensing categories for both water and wastewater operator. Perform
routing preventive maintenance & cleaning of wastewater treatment
equipment & facilities; assists in selecting plant equipment;
reviews operation procedures and making improvement recommendations.
Applicant must show proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate foreign
national worker certification (Green Card). Must have basic WORKING
math skills including adding, subtraction, multiple and divide all
units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Certified capacity (VoTec etc.) in HVAC (Air-conditioning) and
Electrical Maintenance is a definite plus. The systems use both 230
and 480 three phase Open Delta electrical power.
Licenses:
Must
possess valid LA driver's license and NO criminal record to apply. Candidate
should be able to acquire Wastewater Treatment Certification II, in
all five categories of water production and wastewater treatment
within 12 months; company will provide the training through LRWA.
Transportation:
Must possess reliable and insured transportation to travel to and from
the work site. Minimal use of personal vehicle required.
Rate of Pay: Negotiable,
within reason.
